General Information
Name: Drak Milk
Class: Vitalic
Type: Liquid
Colour: Off-white to pale yellow
Smell: Pungent, slightly sour
Description: Drak Milk, drawn from the udders, is thick, creamy, and nutrient-dense. It has a strong, musky flavor that requires an acquired taste. Rich in fats and proteins, it sustains laborers and is used in both food and alchemical concoctions.
Properties: Curdled milk is highly nourishing and calorie-dense. It is sometimes used in poultices for burns or cracked skin. When fresh, it can be safely consumed raw.
Harvesting & Processing
Harvesting: Milk is manually collected from adult female Draks, ideally during the early morning. The yield depends on their diet and health; maximum output occurs when the young are recently weaned.
Processing: Milk is typically boiled shortly after extraction. Boiling helps clarify the milk for better storage and consumption.
Storage: Raw milk is soured within a day unless boiled. Spoils quickly without treatment. Store in chilled Rimeleek clay. Kept cool, boiled milk lasts up to three days.
